Amritsar: Class 12 student shot dead, probe underway

A Class 12 student was shot dead in Amritsar’s Fatehgarh Churian area on Monday.

A Class 12 boy was shot dead in Amritsar’s Fatehgarh Churian area on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ajay.

The incident took place on Monday evening when he had gone out with his two friends. After he did not return home, his family members started a search for him. They tried calling his phone, but his number was switched off.

They filed a missing person complaint at the police station.

Based on the complaint, the police started an investigation. The boy’s body was found near an FCI godown the next day. He had gunshot injuries.

During the investigation, the victim’s family members revealed that he had an old rivalry with someone, due to which he had a fight before as well.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and further investigations are underway.
