Congress sets up 4 high-powered committees for municipal polls in Punjab
Punjab Congress has set up four high-powered committees for the municipal elections in Punjab, with top priority given to Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
The Punjab Congress on Tuesday constituted four high-powered committees – with five members each- for four municipal corporations likely to have polls early next year.
“The party accorded top priority to the municipal corporation elections of Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar,” said Congress State President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
“Committees consist of all senior leaders, including former deputy chief minister and ministers”, Warring said, while emphasising that the party will ensure victory in the four corporations.
The committee for Patiala consists of former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, including other party leaders like Kuljit Singh Nagra, Dr Amar Singh, Barindermeet Singh Pahra and Pawan Goyal.
