Institutes like IIM Amritsar working for people’s welfare: MoS Education

Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar remarked that the institutes like IIM Amritsar are working towards people’s welfare.

On Sunday, Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar remarked that institutions like IIM Amritsar are working for the people’s welfare by enhancing the quality of education. The Union MoS was visiting the IIM Amritsar campus, where he planted a tree on IIM’s transit campus. As per an official release, the MoS also met the faculty, staff, and students of IIM. He had also underlined the transition to experiential learning in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

IIM AMRITSAR WORKING FOR PEOPLE’S WELFARE

Speaking to the gathering, the Union Minister of State Subhas Sarkar said, “Institutes like the Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar are working towards the welfare of people by improving the quality of education and imparting 21st-century skills.”

He went on to emphasise the move to experiential learning in National Education Policy 2020.

NEED FOR LEARNING COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION

Union MoS Subhas Sarkar went on to underline the need for learning communication and presentation which he described as a balance amongst speaking and listening.

He further remarked, “Our research and innovation activities should benefit the most disadvantaged individuals and focus on fostering industry and academia linkages.”

ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT AND EDUCATION

Reiterating the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ slogan, MoS Subhas Sarkar stated that India may rise by carefully and thoroughly delivering education, mixing nuances of empathy and compassion with scientific advances in functional areas such as genetics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.

He further urged students of the institute to conduct motivational events for those who fail to do well in board exams of Classes 10 and 12.
