The police suspect the involvement of jailed gangster Saraj Singh in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead on Sunday.
As the investigation into the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala continues, another gangster has been taken on production warrant from jail in Amritsar in connection with the case. Saraj Singh alias Mintu is being questioned in connection with the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala.
Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday, May 29. Sidhu Moose Wala’s body had around two dozen entry and exit bullet wounds, according to sources.
Following the incident, the Punjab Police said that the attack on Sidhu Moose Wala is suspected to be a fallout of inter-gang rivalry.
Notorious gangster Saraj Singh was taken on production warrant for questioning in connection with the case. More than one and a half dozen cases of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, drug smuggling, possession of arms, etc are registered against Saraj Singh.
As police probes the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, it is alleged that the vehicles used in the crime were provided at the behest of Saraj Singh. The police also suspect that some students were involved in the murder at the behest of Saraj.
Notably, Saraj Singh is accused of killing Vipin Sharma, a Hindu leader, in 2017. Saraj is a dangerous henchman of notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.
